Extra Dimensional Scientists From Pocket = Flying Space Trojan Horse?
I might just be scared and stupid but...

I just got the message saying that my Scientist went through a pocket and came back with half the crew, which means that I'm going to get the message that the rest of the crew is going to reappear with no memory of what happened. I'll get two options, let it go rogue or keep it. I know that It's a unbidden ship, which sure looks like a trap to me. Some people say that It has an increased chance of Unbidden, others say it's just a free ship. A few say that you get the scourge from it, no crazy robots though. Keep In mind I am very early game on my first playthrough, like 6 years in, and It would be be really lame if I lost this early. Will nothing happen? Will the unbidden say hello? Will the swarm come to hang out? Will Space Wizard Gandalf and the Corvettes of Rohan come and crusade the galaxy? Should I just let it go and attack me? What should I do?

the unbidden aren't going to show up 6 years into the game just because you had that event. i think they eventually became the endgame crisis in every game where i had that event and kept the ship, but the crisis didn't start earlier than it's supposed to do.

if anything, the event just makes it more likely that this crisis shows up rather than one of the other 2. nothing more.

wonderlust event is really rare as far as I know and increases chance of unbidden crisis, other than that its not trojan horse

Do what I do. Accept the ship into my fleet, immediately get rid of it (Because who wants a ship that can't be upgraded and will be a liability.

End game crisis only occur after a fixed time that's listed in your new game galaxy settings.

No event during the 'early age' is going to trigger end game crisis to wipe you out... the games too heavily scripted and broken into artificial 'ages' for that to be possible.

What the event may do is influence what end game crisis you face half a millenium or more later (How long it takes to get to a 'end game' era depends on how you adjusted your galaxy settings.)

According to the wiki, the wanderlust event greatly increases the chance of the unbidden being the crisis. Several times more potent than a few empires developing jump drive.

To the op, the unbidden cannot spawn before the end game year you set during game setup.
