Ion cannon got no weapon

Not really sure what to do, it's a glorified doorstopper right now. xD
Anyone know of a solution?

Yeah, I saw that one as well, but it's been a few months and still nothing so figured I'd ask around.

I havent used them yet but they need the titan sized weapon, assuming you need to research that first to get the weapon?

If it helps (aka make you spend resources elsewhere) defense stations and ion cannons (they take 7 or 8 slots) feels useless.

The only time they ARE useful is if you've got a parity in fleet combat strength AND have that fleet stationed in the system, in which case they can make a okay difference until fleet power makes them obsolete. And they in theory waste time for an attacker.

You don't research the perdition beam to equip it on a titan, you get a tech that unlocks both titans and ion cannons (you'll still need a tech to get citadels to build them though).

That's super odd and I would love to get my hands on a save from this to see if I can identify what is going on with your ion cannons.

strange my ion canons shoot its just that i cant configurate them.

They did appear after about 2 years ingame for me, but it's still odd that they spawn in without any weapons, lol.

and they should be spawning with weapons, I've tried several different ways to get it to spawn without one but to no success :( so a save would be great to help identify what is going on.

How do I send a save file? will have to look around tho and hope I actually saved when it wasn't there as well. >.>

ah don't worry, I managed to find the way to reproduce it myself so I have it logged internally now.

Awesome ^^ Also, it's the same with the titans for me, it took a few months for it to spawn in, in case you want to look into that as well. :)

I have the same issue with the Ion Cannon as in no weapon spawns when it is built, but the Titan ship weapon is fine when I build a titan ship.
