Repairing fleets?
So I know you can repair in systems you've captured during a war. But what are the specifics?

Can you repair at any Starbase, but not Outposts?

Needs to have a shipyard. But if you control it, it works. Even if it is one you captures in a war.

Regenerating Hull + Liquid Metal makes for repair on the move though, which is amazingly good now.

Yes. You need shipyard if you want to upgrade though.

I always found the repairs to be too slow to be useful. Useful if your ships were miles from a Spaceport, but since you can repair in 'enemy' territory now, perhaps less so? Or is that because Regen also repairs armour?

Does that mean you can essentially ditch shields altogether and go pure armour and regen? Or does that leave you super vulnerable to energy weapons?

Regen is WAY faster in 2.0. It ticks daily instead of monthly.

Yes and yes. Pure armor tanking works, but you will be vulnerable to beam weapons.

Also repairs armour. You get 1 hull, 2 armor repair per game day (which is a lot for corvettes and destroyers), and living metal gives those a good bonus.

Still put some shields up though, so that weapons like lasers don't just rip you up, and your ships can defend with shielding while regenerating.

In case you wanted to know, these ships were stupidly OP. (playing iron man game, got seriously lucky).

Sure. I'll reload the game and shot them all for you. Hang on.

Does not need a shipyard to repair, but it needs to be something larger than an outpost.

It does need a shipyard to upgrade, though.

Yeah, just tested this. You are correct. So any outpost you control or an ally or vassal controls works.
