One planet strategy in 2.0, still viable?
I've been recently trying a one planet strategy in multiplayer and I've noticed it's significantly harder than it was in 1.9. Firstly the art monument is now planet unique so I can't just spam them to get as much unity as possible. Secondly the way the tech cost increases now my tech increase cost is actually more than my neighbour with four planets due to the amount of systems I control and have to control in order to keep up with mineral and energy requirements.

Am I just missing a really big thing for the one planet strategy in 2.0 or has it got a tonne harder.

It still is possible but it is imo a bit harder. 30k minerals for your science nexus for example was a really hard roadbump.

For one planet try, I would suggest pacifist+lifeseeded+inward perfection. Maybe minimum starlanes for builidng a good "safespace bubble". Then it is up to RNGesus what your surrounding systems look and how far you will build your safespace. There is no avoiding a slight dent thorugh outposts for your research like with 1.9.

OPS destroyed.
If you want to unity/tech mega progress then expand ONLY FOR PLANETS.

Full unity and most of tech in <2300, had 5 planets and 5 systems.
