Best thing as the meat and potatoes is in the update
if you enjoy the game as is, the dlc basically just adds more. if you don't like the game as is...
Wait for the bugfixes and tweaks to the new war system.
EDIT: But the DLC is pretty gooood~!
95% of developement-updates is free.
5% is paid DLC.
It barely adds something, but I like the development and effort that went into the updates, hence it's more about supporting the continued development on the game.
