but it's good story, and enough corvettes *will* rekk it.
40+ corvettes with shield/armour penetrating weapons solved that problem for me rather well. Lost most of the corvettes though but it was awesome.
I love those guys when I'm playing pacifist, it's like a no holds barred wardec on them. Anyone else I have to wait for them to hit me (or "liberate" them). For swarm and purifiers, it's like a free lunch.
The problem is if the player gets it, the game is basically over. You get to make tributaries of everyone around you, and by 2300 you'll be collecting 600+ credits and minerals from tributes.
After 20 years you haven't 40+ corvettes (and the tech) to defeat it. So the enemy will steam roll you in two waves and thats it.
If you go wide, you should have at least a fleet of some 40-50 Corvettes.
If you don't have Disruptors, go for Rockets. It has 0 point defence and only T and L slots.
Don't be afraid to go over the naval cap, as you will lose ships during this engagement.
If it is coming to you, set your fleet on the jump point it will arrive through, so it spawns right on top of your fleet. You are most vulnerable on the approach.
they also made the ship require 25k engineering research to restore to the 6k power
