No Dragon Loot

Google says that it's been a problem for 3 years, and I guess it still is.

I killed the ether drake, built a mining station, and it's been about 175 years since. No events yet.

Is it supposed to be a guarantee that something happens?

Check your trophys and click on it to activate. I think the drake was +10 happiness to all planets

Owning the dragon's hoard and having a mining station over it, gives dragon scale armour (only source of tier 6 armour) and a dragon egg.

I haven't fought the ether drake since 2.3.X was released, so it isn't impossible that the reward could be bugged.

If it is working correctly, then you should eventually get some dialog choices that will lead either to dragonscale armor for your ships or a baby ether drake. I don't believe that there's a guarantee that it will happen within any given timeframe, however, so in rare cases it might take a long time.

Note that there is now another dragon that can appear in the game, and killing that dragon does not lead to either of those options. There is a different reward, which is awarded immediately after the dragon is defeated.

Shard (second dragon, found by archeology). Killing her gets you the dragon skull AND rubricator.

Ether Dragon (first dragon, planet "dragon's hoard" is a huge amount of energy and minerals and is SUPPOSED TO give you an egg or armor.

but speaking of bugged events that won't trigger...

Anyone had an event in an L-Gate? Because I've cracked them open in 2 games now with no events listed in the wiki. Nothing, except 2 planets through the entire cluster with +1 nanytes. Nothing else.

Edit: Actually in-game right now it's 2672 and no crisis triggered.

Nah, the only popups were my admiral getting Dragonslayer and a trophy being sent to my homeworld that gives 10 happiness on activation.

I've never gotten both. Maybe I'm just unlucky.

oops you're right. Ether Drake trophy is from the dragon, the Rubricator is from Shard.

Still no event though.

my current game has the "totally not the tempest" spawn. game before that had gray

Just trigger the event manually, the wiki should have the info. If not, its in your event folder concerning leviathans most likely.

The MTTH was 50 years on dragon's hoard. Was supposed to be reduced in a patch, I forget which but it didn't tell us what the new MTTH was supposed to be.

Never, apparently. The Praetorians just showed up, so I'm going to go deal with them and start a new game and hope the dragon is there too, and actually gives me something this time.
