What resolutions have you tried?

Ive tried most of them but the one I use for most of the game I play is 1360x768

If you clicked on Settings in the start page, at the bottom, there is a line called "UI scaling (experimental)", it might be set too low, maybe, so try upping it to 1.0x.

Or go to your Documents -> Paradox Interactive -> Stellaris -> Settings and set this line
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

graphics={
size={
x=1366
y=768
}

min_gui={
x=1280
y=720
}

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

in the graphics section. Hopefully it'll help.

No problem, I suspect an "auto resolution" program that sets the game to your monitor's default resolution fritzed out and auto set it to a small resolution. Hard changing the code bypasses it so it went back to normal.

Had a similar problem, this post fixed it. Thanks, Mistfox!

That thing actually worked for me too.

Just adding to this to help anyone else looking for help - I was having the problem of Stellaris ignoring the fact that I set 1920x1080. When I went looking at the Settings.txt file I discovered that while my display settings were correct the minimum settings were at higher res. Making them match solved my issue and now I can run at 1920x1080 on my 4K display.
