Migrating Forests can't be removed
I conquered a planet that had said forests but the situation log never gives the option to take care of it. Any console commands to just remove the effect?

If I recall there is a random event that comes around. Something to do with "adaptive urban planning" where you create the planetary infrastructure to accommodate the Walking Forests. I think in that case what happens is that it removes the trees as a blocker, and then makes them into a minor planetary status effect; but I could be wrong on that.

You actually (eventually) get the choice to eliminate them entirely OR keep them for a small bonus.

There's still no situation log entry even after decolonizing the planet. I'm either going to turn it into an ecumenopolis or blow it up

Ecumenopolis has the migrating forests planetary features still...

If you mess with it enough, you may very well break the later quest, you know =o. I can't say that for sure, mind you, so whatever, just be aware you *may* somehow bork the later chance of choosing removal or bonus.

I've found ways to break minor quests in odd ways like this a bajillion times in Stellaris, over the years, although I should point out that I know little about 2.x versions' peculiarities; it may also not be much of an issue any more.

The quest is broken, I had to blow up the planet to get rid of it, and the rubble still has that modifier!

OK, yes, that'll certainly do it o.o' .

for information, the quest wasnt broken. the event is triggered when you "colonize" the planet.

As you "conquered" it that must mean somebody else "colonized" the planet, got the quest and completed it.

i believe terraforming also remove some special trait from a planet so terraforming the planet may remove the forest.

I just had this event in my current file. It took roughly 50 years from when I got the first notification about moving trees destroying things till when they presented me with fixing the situation. It took a long time, idk if thats normal or not.

Perspective: One might think that the previous owner's decision to keep the forest, should not bind the new owner who want to burn it all down.

I keep getting devastation events happening on the planet so that's a no. the migrating forests tile blocker is still there, too, until I blew it of of course.
