Can't go through Wormhole
Hiya, I seem to be having a problem with a wormhole I just explored: after exploration, I wanted my science ship to go through the wormhole, but according to its orders it has spent the last year going through, without actually moving. I also cancelled the order, had the ship go somewhere else and then ordered it to go through the wormhole again, but it just moved to the wormhole and now has been sitting there again for ages, while the orders still say it's going through. The science ship's icon also keeps switching between the idle and the moving symbol, so something is definitely wrong. Anyone else experience this?

Did you research the tech that will stabilize the wormhole?
It's a rare tech and once you research it you have to "Explore wormhole" before going through the wormhole.

Is it possible the other side is controlled by an empire who's borders are not open to you?

That is also possible i forgot to mention that. You might have had the wormhole explored but your borders with the other empire might be closed.

Yes, I said in my original question I had already explored the wormhole, i.e. have the tech to do so.
Closed borders on the other side of the wormhole would make sense, I suppose - thanks!

If you look inside the system of an explored wormhole (that you explored) you can see the name of the system it connects to. THEN... you can use the search feature to find that system and verify if it is inside an empire that has closed borders to you.

No need to search. You can just click the wormhole and it will take you to its other side so you can check the system and see who it belongs to.

Actually, when I click on the wormhole, the camera just pins back to the wormhole's own sun and gets weirdly shaky...

That's a glitch with moving from one system to another. Usually you can fix it by just exiting the system view and then going back in.
