Bug report: 'impossible' Salvaged Cruiser upgrade downgraded my ship
Got an issue with my Rogue Servitors empire: I got the Salvaged Cruiser from the Gas Giant (with lvl4 weapons & armor), and afterwards the Cruiser from the Numistic merchants. I put these two cruisers in the same fleet as my 3 starting corvettes.
But then I got the technology to upgrade my corvettes' design (lvl2 armor) so I upgraded the whole fleet - and it "upgraded" the Salvage Cruiser as well, by resetting all its components to my current (lower) level of technology... even though I don't even have a template for Cruiser yet (I' haven't even reached the Destroyer tech).
Something to fix in the future?

If you can actually upgrade the event ships, life will be amazing, because they become useless so fast, and often don't fit fleet design.

The problem is that once you put the special cruisers into a fleet with other, upgradable ships, the game goes dumb and "upgrades" the cruisers to the auto generated design which uses t1 components. This seems to happen before you get the cruiser tech.

If the cruisers are in a fleet that has no other upgrades available, there are no problems. But put them together with corvettes or destroyers that need to be upgraded, and the game will downgrade the cruisers so you have to seperate the special ships out. Makes it a micro managemnet nightmare.

Or you cancel the cruiser "upgrade" order after clicking to upgrade the whole fleet.

Completely agree with you, but if you don't know this issue or forget about it you end up like me, with a salvaged cruiser with lvl1 components, which is sad :'(
Does anyone know if this is planned to be fixed?

I know they disallowed event ships from joining normal fleets which in turn prevents them "upgrading" to T1 components.

Thats a lame workaround and just means event ships get used less, because you need seperate admirals for them.

It's just one or two ships without admiral, won't be the difference between a loss and a win.
