Population and Jobs
Question concerning population and jobs...

It seems like they do whatever they want. I keep ending up short on Food/Energy/Whatever, and when I look, I find that there simply is no one working those jobs.

Is there some fix for this? Or do you have to micromanage every single building and who goes into what job?

I'll have a nice for food, build all kinds of food producing buildings and districts, and no food. Come to find out everyone is an enforcer/admin/entertainer, etc.

I get it. Who wants to be a dirt farmer?

But the executions are going to start soonest if something doesn't change.

Don't build a bunch of specialist buildings as soon as you can. build them when you are getting low on available jobs or need their resource. On some planets I don't build any buildings except for the gene clinic and resource booster (Energy Grid, etc.) to just get pops working on energy or food or whatever

Your pops want the best paid jobs the can find, Ruler, then specialist, at last worker. Just build spezialist-buildings, if there are eneough pops on yours planet left, to do the working in energy7mining and farms.

i usually "loock" the workers on farms. So ive know that there are no empty workspace in this sec ctor left. And then ive to wait until my population grow...

You can also prioritize jobs in each strata in the population summary. Those get filled first.

With Glavius' AI, clerks will generally be the bottom of the barrel. His weights for pop jobs will be used in the next update. What this means is that your generators, mines and farms will mostly be filled and clerk jobs will mostly be the unfilled positions. In addition, generally, your smart guys will be researchers, strong ones miners and enforcers, etc.

Thanks for all the help. I'm going to try and fix this.

But I still want to do a few executions just to make a statement.

1) Pops assume the position of a specialist/ruler if there is a job available.
2) You can favorite a job.
3) You can shut down buildings or deprioritize some jobs.

Easiest solution is to just reduce the amount of available jobs to force your workers into the jobs you want them to work in.

The above are ways to go about it. In my opinion, the simplest way to put it is to you keep your pops and jobs balanced/equal per planet.

Sometime I actually just add jobs when I see that there is unemployment.
