Is the Ancient Relics Story Pack save game compatible?

Hi,

I was thinking about getting the Ancient Relics DLC but I'm wondering if it can be used for already started games.

My wife and I are probably about 3 hours into our current game, will this pack work for us on our current game?

the new resources is aquired from digsites,which i'm not sure if all are "discovered by chance" or spawn from game_start,so you might be missing it's main feature&events

I bought and installed it during an existing game. I started getting notifications of dig sites but there were very few. I also got relics from defeating leviathans from there on (but not retroactively). Everything worked fine/as intended on a new game.
