How do I get Star fighters and bomber?
So I just started playing a few days ago and I have no clue on how to get them, do I need to research something? Or am I just blind?

Some things you don’t need to research, like corvettes. Anyways I have them researched now where do I build them? Can’t find it for the life of me.

On the ship design screen you can choose the section type of a ship, look for sections that has the [H] slot.

However it's only available on Cruisers, Battleships, and Defense Platforms, not on Corvettes and Destroyers.

Either you put a Hangarbay into your space stations [or Defense stations] which then autoequips them with your best fighter/bomber or you build a carrier type of ship. Like for example Battleships, wher eyou can place in Hangarbays and then equip them with the desired (available) fighter/bomber type.

But fun with them and maybe RP playstyle aside, Carriers are generally regarded pretty weak and most people minmax their ship rather for kinetic artillery/plasma or cluster them with Torpedos. I leave this link here, since you are new anyway.

Carriers are crap in this game, the only thing fighters are good for is anti-piracy patrol.

They are not so bad anymore, plus they force the AI to get some point defence and i don't use missles or torp anymore so that is a win for me.

They are quite good for early Bastion Starbases. AI rarely runs with Flak or Point Defense, so its free damage. If they do pick PD, your Interceptor builds win by having more weapons. So a win win.

That being said, a dedicated Carrier Battleship (Hangar/Carrier/Boardside) can be useful, but I guess only if you are way ahead in tech and the enemies you are facing are using Corvettes and Destroyers only. It is much better to just go with a full L-Weapon loadout, if they have Cruisers and up.

For the OP, there is a series of tech around Fighters, with more advanced designes as you proceed through it. Whan you look at the Ship Designer, at the very top you should have the ship modules to pick from. Corvette has an Interceptor, Point Defense and Missile to choose from. I believe the first ship that can house a Hangar module is a Cruiser.

Thank you for the info my friends but there still remains one problem, I have no idea how to even build a strike craft I have hangers and such as you guys suggested but I still have no clue on how to build strike craft.

You don't build strike craft separately, they're added automatically with the Hangar modules on starbases, or whatever option you put into the H slot on applicable ship types.

Strike crafts are not things you individually build or control, the only thing you do is add a strike craft hangar to a ship or platform, and during fights only, strike crafts will go out of the hangars and attack, kind of the same way missiles go out of missile launchers.

They work like a weapon module. You don't load missiles into a launcher, same as you don't build fighters and bombers. They act like an independant small craft during a fight, engaging targets they can reach. All you need is a ship with a Hangar Slot into which you put a Fighter or a Bomber module. The rest happens automatically.

When you create say a Defense Platform, you can pick each side to house a Hangar Slot, marked with a yellow symbol with a H in it. In this Hangar Slot you can install Fighters or Bombers, or simple Strikecraft if you don't have the specialized researched yet. Those will be deployed automatically as every other weapon type.
