Anybody else think that 42 Years and 3 Days is way too common?

3rd time in how many games?

i personally think it depends on map size/empire count. if there is a lot of empty space, you are simply going to see a lot of repeats due to the finite number of anomalies.

I admit, I always play the game with a Huge galaxy, and I start new games more than I load old ones.

If you play on huge galaxies you can get most if not all of the events in the game, the only limiting factors really are other empires taking control of the territory before you scan it.

Personally I wish/hope Paradox will stop with actual expansions for a little while after Federations is released, and focus on optimizing/bug fixing with the only DLC they release being story pack stuff. Would be a win win imo because I quite enjoy the anomalies/archaeology and it would allow Paradox to still make money and provide new content, while also fixing the game.

That's actually what happens with most of their games. They release a DLC and then they spend the next couple of months cleaning up bugs, optimising and rebalancing things. It's not like they're pumping out DLC every other month. We're only getting a couple a year at the moment.

Then they start on the next DLC until the sales no longer support ongoing development or the engine is too old at which point they start work on Stellaris 2. But even then, they still fix things up. It's the release of DLC that actually keeps the game alive.

Rubricator would like to have a word with you.
To be fair, it's an easy enough event to reuse considering that it has several radically different outcomes, with no real way of knowing for sure what you're going to get when it first pops up.

Huh? I always get the same events, in same order every game and i think this is how it is supposed to be...

There is only a limited amount of events in vanilla Stellaris and you are bound to have seen all of them within three, four playthroughs, then they start getting repetitive.

It is entirely a matter of perception.

Get mods that add more events, such as the aptly named More Events Mod.

It has multiple outcomes, including one where it blows everything in the system.
So potencially a very bad event, expecially in the same system of a guaranteed planet spawns of your two planets, which has 20+ tiles...

I'm aware of how Paradox does their games, that's why I said I wish they'd focus on optimizing/bug fixing and only releasing Story Packs for say half a year or so. The story packs i'd imagine are simpler to add and probably a lot less resource intensive. This would allow them to go on full bug fixing/optimizing mode, without them adding new mechanics that they'd have to spend a lot of time and effort on. It would also allow them to still make money because i'm sure plenty of people would still buy the Story Packs.

That's actually what they've done this year. The Ancient Relics DLC, released in June this year, was a story pack.

That means they have been doing exactly what you asked them to do for the first half of 2019.
