Dictatorship Elections
Is there a good way (without cheating) to manage your leaders and their traits for an election in a dictatorship? I'm trying to make my leader into an immortal God-Squid, but it takes at least 50 years for my ruler to die after election, just to have a chance at getting decent traits, and I'd like to be able to manage my leaders to get the best traits possible.

A fanatic xenophobe fallen empire will kill your nation leader if you build an outpost next to their territory, they will warn you first then kick your butt right off of you and murder your leader if you go ahead anyway.

Fallen empires aren't enabled on that save.

And it's not about the leader dying, it's about managing which leaders can be elected. That's especially tough since it won't let me see which leaders can become the dictator.

What's your definition of cheating? Are you not allowed to use console commands? 'Cause if your goal is to kill your leader, it doesn't really strike me as being cheating to ... well, kill your leader.

If you're not allowing yourself console commands, all you're really doing is looking for a mod that will let you do the same thing "legitimately" (which, in the background, is really just running the console command).

If you're okay with console commands, the one you're looking for is "kill_ruler" - it does exactly what it sounds like.

You'll then get your choice of four leaders, and if you don't like the ones you get, repeat until you do. That's the best you'll be able to do with.

Of course, to actually make your leader immortal, without using mods, you'll have to hope that you get the event from the Psionic tree that lets you make your leader immortal - and that you get to pick the leader you want, when given the choice.

Killing the leader and gaining immortality isn't the issue. I just want to know how to manage the leaders that can ascend to power after that since unlike Democracy, you can't view the leaders that are available.

To put it bluntly - you can't.

You could use this, though:

Doesn't help you mid-game, though.

I'll try that out.

That mod works. Thanks!

I normally ignore elections and deal with whatever the outcome is. I find it rarely causes a big issue for me.

This is how we got Trump.

JK ;) I also mostly ignore elections in Stellaris, the biggest problem that they cause is taking a good scientist from research. How does that mod work anyway, does it help shape leaders the way OP wanted?

I was more looking for a way to control the pool of leaders that could be selected, but in the absence of that, this is close enough.
