Hangar-Carrier section range?

Just wondering, does anyone know what the hangar-carrier section of a ship range is? I mean at what range does a ship, lets say battleship with a hangar-carrier section starts to deploy its aircraft?

I'm pretty sure the fighters deploy once the battleship engages in combat - so if you put the spinal mount weapon on it, they should deploy from the 150ish range that the spinal mount fires from.

should be dependant on the fleet engaging in battle, not the battleship with the hangar itself

Fair point - though it's not like anything else in the fleet will be likely to engage before the battleship if it's using a spinal weapon

common\ship_behaviors\00_strike_craft.txt:

They are launched and attack enemies as soon as the fleet enters combat, regardless of range. I think the "engagement range" on them is if strike craft are the only weapon on the ship, that's the range they will enter combat at. If you have a 400 range weapon the fleet enters combat from basically the other side of the system and all strike craft will be launched and fly over there.
