Can't Design any ship!!!
Since the new update, I haven't been able to modifynor design any of my ships, and when I try to do it the area where the name of the ship, the auto-upragade button and all that is grey and when I move my mouse to that position it tells me that I can't modify the ship nor the defense station.
Any idea of what I need to do to fix this problem?

All the bottom right side corner of the design ship screen is greyed out and a can't click in any of the options there nor change anything too, that includes: name of the ship, auto-upragade ship, auto-design and every other option and button on that corner.

I'll look when I get home but pretty sure auto design is in the bottom left

i didn't see the button until you told me, and that was exactly the problem. Thanks for helping me with this.

You cant modify a ship design if you are currently building it. Maybe that's relevant for you?

Am I in the wrong place? I am on the Shipyard tab of my Starbase and there is a grayed-out button that says "Open Ship Designs", and otherwise I don't see any button for auto design, not in the bottom left or anywhere else. New player, so I'm probably missing something very obvious.

I'll do that when I get back in next time—just quit the game, unfortunately.

Broh you are out of reasources. Thats your problem rn. IF you look at the top bar you will see a whole bunch of Icons with numbers next to them. Those things are reasources. Each one is needed and spent in differrent ways to give you differrent things. For all ship designs the one that matters are the glorious purple alloys. You are currently at 81 and you need 109 and to build a ship. Thats why they are all greyed out. Thats the game letting you know you don't have the resources for those yet. Also you need to better balance your economy. Keep a close eye on those reasources. You can gte completley ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by late game if you arent running large surplusses from the get go. The 3 most important by far are Mineral ( red diamonds, electricity and the civilian goods. ) Run out of or get into a deficit of either of the 3 and you can quickly end up in trouble.

The button in question is in the ship designer interface, you can get there via the blue button halfway in the left side bar.

Thank you, but that was not it. I've been building ships no problem (once I hit the requisite number of alloys), which is why my alloys are so low now. I'm talking about designing a new ship.

That said, thank you for the tip on keeping a surplus. I've been building up a fleet because there's another empire nearby with tense relations that was a bit stronger than me, so I figured I needed them sooner rather than later. But I'll try to be careful.

Ah yes, of course, thank you! I forgot about that. Still, why does it have the "Open Ship Designs" button in the Shipyard, as well? Maybe that's just to look at the designs for ships that are in the construction queue (and it's grayed out because the queue is empty)?

Yeah no worries. Also don't be afraid to be agressive early game. Knocking down dangerous adversaries early can be a massive boon. The key thing you have to keep an eye on if you are going for a big fleet is keeping alloy production up ( To be able to spam ships and replace losses) and energy credits as its energy credits which ships consume daily as part of there maintenance costs. The higher your energy credit reserves/ monthly surplus the larger a fleet you can sustain. That being said don't be afraid to beef up before a war ( By building past your ship and star base count) and then deleting access ♥♥♥♥ later.
