First thing you need to know, the color of your borders is directly related to the color's you used for your flag. Primary flag color = border outline, Secondary flag color = territory fill color.
To change this, you need to edit your save file - I'll try to explain this below if you don't know how, but in case I confuse you the wiki for how to do this is here: https://stellaris.paradoxwikis.com/Save-game_editing
1. Navigate to your Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\save games folder on your PC
2. Find your save game folder, inside will be the save file (example - autosave.sav)
3. Right click on your save file, and compress it to a zip file using whatever program you have on your computer (ie winzip, 7zip, etc)
4. Open the zip folder, open the save file (autosave.sav or other name) and then open the gamestate file - windows should ask how you want to open the file, you can choose Notepad which is preinstalled on windows - but the script is large and tends to crash Notepad. I prefer to use Notepad ++ its free, google it.
Now that you have the gamestate file open, you are ready to edit it
1. Do a search within the file, if you have Notepad open, or Notepad ++, do CTRL+F to bring up the search bar.
2. Search for the word color
3. The first search result that comes up should be your's - by default on solo's the human player is Country 0 - you should see this https://prnt.sc/ns9prf
4. Change the colors
5. Save the file, close the window
6. Unzip / uncompress the file now (the one you just finished editing) and replace the old save file from the above step 3
Also - a tip - if you want to know what colors to replace with, go into a brand new single player, making the flag you want before starting, then save that game as soon as it loads, repeat all the above steps and just copy and paste the color codes from one save to the other.
I really hope this helps somebody in the future who may be googling how to do this.
