Wraiths are freaking stupid!
Im at war, im playing with my friend and suddenly a wraith rampages in my system and HE NEVER LEAVES. I lost, not because i lost against my Friend.. but against a stupid wraith. Why the hell does it fly to a border of a different empire, then turns around and keeps ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me up. It destroys my 30k armada because it just warps where ever it wants, without ever leaving. 20 FREAKING INGAME YEARS and it just wont leave. This is total BS and should be fixed. It shouldnt rampage one system for more than 5 ingame years EVER. My economy is broken i dont have any Ressources to recover and its over BECAUSE OF ONE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ALIEN.

Giant space dragon don't live by your rules. Giant space dragon will ♥♥♥♥ up what giant space dragon wants to, for how long it wants to.

The only thing you can do is kill it.
MaxamusLead 24 DIC 2017 a las 6:16 a. m.
Time you and your buddy put your empire difference a side and declare war on the space dragon.

That or offer a trade of system to him if he offers assistant.

Yes poop happens. Recover And Retaliate.

Ether Drake and ESPECIALLY the Stellar Devourer are quite fierce beasts that will actively hunt you down if you make them mad.

Wraiths just...well, float about and do collateral damage.
Extinction 24 DIC 2017 a las 9:34 a. m.
Well yea, but there is no "put differences aside and hunt them down". Because no combined force of us together is strong enough to even scratch that thing. A 30k fleet was vaporized and stood no chance at all. In my single player game i had to fight this thing with a fleet of 500k strong because it never traveled to a star that weekened that thing. There should be some kind of limit on how long it can stay in one empire. This thing hunts me down like hell for what ever reason it wont leave ever.

You are his favorite. He doesn't want to leave you.

That sounds like you are running mods. a 30k fleet is about the level needed to kill a leviathan (With significant losses) or 50k if you want a clean kill.

It's been a while since I managed to get to the wraith before the AI killed it, but I believe it is also vulnerable to energy weapons.

On a side note, if it is just sitting in one system and not leaving, how does that wreck your economy? Unless you are running a 1 planet empire, you should be able to shift your shipyards to a different system and proceed as normal.

I just killed one with like 25k with next to no loses. 30k should have been enough, depending on ship builts and such.

I dont know how 30k could be enough when It blasts through my tier 3 shield with 1 shot. Yea i might be able to kill it somehow but im at war with a real player. We had a contest so he used that to wreck me even tho his fleet was way weaker than mine. There is just no chance to recover. Yea he couldve been so nice to not attack me while im getting my ass whooped by a giant jellyfish. And no i might have said it wrong, it is not sitting in one system, it is sitting in my Empire all day. The only thing that killed it was the fallen empire that i go vassaled by, atleast i wasnt destroyed by him.

If you have a properly balanced fleet (4:2:1:1 for ship type ratios), it shouldn't be much of an issue. What ships were you using?

i was using a fleet specialising against my friend, because he researched realy powerfull shields. I was going for balistics and flak

The flak probably cost you against the wraith. While good against fighters and missiles, it's not terribly effective against actual ships and, from the sounds of it, you had a significant amount, thereby reducing the number of weapons you can use.

It doesn't help that, when outside of its weakness type star systems, I believe the wraith gets a large boost to evasion, meaning that large ballistics weapons will have problems hitting it. Conversely, energy weapons tend to have pretty good tracking (Perfect, in the case of the x-class lightning weapon). That's one reason having more corvettes and destroyers help. In addition to cutting the damage the wraith deals by forcing it to use overkill in its attacks, both the small ship types tend to be more accurate and use smaller, more accurate weapons as well.

Heh, the bastard showed up for me in 2050. Carved my little pacifist empire in half :D I managed to kill it by hiring 7.5k mercenary fleet for 9000 credits along with my pathetic 2.5k. Never lose hope :)

the wraith can't show up before the mid game crisis date
Kamen 6 JUN 2018 a las 2:03 a. m.
Yes it can :D At the start of the game, only five systems from my home planet my scientist found a pulsar with a warning that in 2250 something will happen. And the Wraith came out when my naval capacity was still at 25 :D
