Computer Freezing Every Time I try To Launch The Game

I don't know if this is the same problem people have reported before, but every time I launch the game, once the initial loading bar hits 90%, my computer hard freezes. I can't alt tab, I can't move my mouse, I can't do anything, I have to hard power off my computer to fix it, like hold the power button until it's off.

It happens with mods, without mods, launching from the file explorer, and on previous versions. My PC is a gaming rig, and it runs other games just fine, but I don't know what's different about Stellaris to cause it to pretty much crash.

Anyone else having this problem, can anyone help, please?

my comp wont launch the game for some reason since the new update, had to revert to 2.3.3 for it to work so the problem is with the game, not my comp.

Have you tried changing the mode from fullscreen to windowed? Not sure this is the same issue, but it's worth trying it to at least rule it out.

no but i just tried and it didn't really do anything except give me a black screen then a ctd on window
