Ethic change via the shrines of the old gods

Hello, i'm currently playing a xenophile/militarist species, but after the end the quest about the old gods, i have the opportunity to change for a collectivist/spiritualist government and population. Is it worth changing, or should i keep my old ethos ?

Collectivists annoy me so I say no. Of course I have just spend the majority of my currect game finding out that all the empires on my side of the map are xenophobes or collectivists and I'm playing the default UNE (extreme individualist xenophiles) so everyone hates me and I've had to get into regular offensive wars to push back the tide. Ironically, the larest empire in the game now are extreme xenophobes on the other side of the galaxy who've decided they like me for no reason and formed a defensive pact. Maybe they're planning to attack a fallen empire and get them to wipe me out... But the AI seems far too stupid to do that intentionally when I can kite their 6700 strength cheat fleet around their territorry with two corvettes while my main fleet bombards and captures their colonies. XD Dunno what I'm gonna do when I have to fight someone with warp drive. Lose I guess.

Anyway, that choice will completely change a lot of things about how you play your empire most likely so you really just have to look at the details and whether you wanna deal with that.

No, but if you do, there is a bug where if you open their communications screen a few times then you will get multiple copies of their ship.
