Is synthetic dawn worth the 10 dollars for it?

I want to know if the synthetic dawn dlc is worth it, and if not could you point me to some workshop mods that are equivalent in content?

I think it is. I've only played/am playing one game with it installed, and I can say that it's probably one of the most fun Stellaris experiences I have had. The Machine Empires feel quite polished, and they properly fit into the narrative of the game. I'd say it's probably the best dlc they've realised for Stellaris, apart from Utopia.

depends how you look at it.

-the amount of content you get in absolute terms is not worth the price, compared to what is in the free patch/base game. note that this is generally true for DLC in any game.
-a single game will easily last you 10+ hours so $1 an hour is pretty good deal
-if you like the idea of playing as a robot, it's worth it.
-if you are on a tight entertainment budget, it's not worth it if you have to ask.
-if money isn't a serious concern, it's nice extra flavor to the game so why not.

realistically tho: unless you actually want to play as the new robots, the DLC doesn't add much beyond flavor.

downside to the dlc is that if you play a machine empire your forced to battle the improved ai crisis cause you built so many robots pops. It only takes about one decent size machine empire to trigger it hehe.

Machine Empires are pretty dank, especially when terraforming every core planet to a Machine Planet. If you don't like playing as hivemind empire not sure how much you'd enjoy it though
