Limbo Event: Brought Them Back, but They're Just Regular Droids?
I'm a little underwhelmed with the outcome of this event. I waited until I had more advanced robots (droids) figuring it would allow them to be more complex and reduce trouble/fail. Instead they're just regular old droids without any modifiers or anything, not even any ethics or character traits leftover from their previous physical form and life - booooring. I even have to spend time to upgrade them *snooze*

And they get tossed on a random planet, pushing my core sector over the limit, but right in the middle of my core sector so I can't easily add them to an existing sector....

Are you talking about the atrificial copies of the brains of the extinct species? I once put them into robots, while advancing in robot technology I got more and more events like "some malfunctioning synths/droids tried to build a spaceship in a hall".
The best option is when you have Synthetics I think. Then they become the actual species or something similar.
Ah, I only went as far as droids to complete their event - I'm more heavily investedin the biological path at this point and wasn't planning on researching the red AI Tech that comes up after droids.

I'm also running without any DLC or mods, so I'm not even sure what I'm able to do and not do half the time =P
Haha, I believe the Synthetic tech is just a regular purple one, it's the sentioent AI that's red. Although I could be wrong about that.
Yeah, unless you have synthetics the robots you have just aren't good enough to properly execute a copied person. You end up with toasters that think they're people.

You can also keep the copy and sell it to the Enigmatic Observers for good will and a chance at tech, materials or ships.
