How do I get the machine intelligence government?!

I've followed the ascension perks needed to turn my race into synthetics but now I want to turn them into an assimilating menace!! How can I do this? I can't work out how to get the gestalt consciousness ethic I need to do it...

You need to create an Empire with Machine Intelligence. You cant get it during the game

There are two ways to be a machine intelligence.

Start as one.

Or have enslaved and self aware synthetics while not being synthetically ascended. Eventually you will get a machine uprising and you can choose to play as the machines.

Synthetic Ascended empires are populated by independently minded machines, they are not a gestalt consciousness.

Hive mind and machine intelligence aren't government types you can change to or from in game. It can only be done at the empire designer menu before the game.

Hey i thing it should work, i mean as a ruler could just be scared of his ppl getting rid of him so he/she woul slowly build robots and at the end he would turn himself in the "processor of it" ruler of machines and then he would get rid of rest of organic pops

You can get machine gestalt when a subject of a machine gestalt wins a liberation war against you.

If you got robots of any kind these become your new drones. If you don't have droid tech you're without advanced drones until you get droid tech.

Your bio pops including your main species will get demoted to grid amalgamation. If that's all you have it's going to be a fun game!
