Megalophobia
i have megalophobia and find this game sorta restricting to play. is there a mod or can any skilld modder help, to remove all planets, asteroids, blackholes, stars, moons, ect or replace them with a stand in of somthing like a space station. ....at this point i would even settle for a jpeg of the games logo or somthing as long as the object is not poking out from behind it/or is just outright removed.

idk how mod friendly this is, to just remove visual assets and what not. so idk how compatible it would be with other mods thanks

Remove the concept of scale from your thoughts. The Stellaris universes are tiny, miniscule, the size of electrons whirling around a proton. An entire Stellaris map is smaller than a single fingernail. When it seems larger, look at your left thumb and then close your right palm around that thumb. You are big enough to have complete control.

tbh wouldnt remove that stuff enforce it by making all that stuff dispear wouldnt that create the illusion of making it biger by creating more space between objects ?

or you could just play zoomed out and the galaxy wont be bigger then your monitor// tv

This is a thing lol? The best way to conquer a fear is to face it as they say. I have an issue in large crowds, but I deal with it pretty well by just doing it and not thinking about it and focusing on something else since I goto a lot of pro football games.

i wouldn't know how, but it is probable that you could change all the textures.

Hey, I think I founda way.
Delete everything in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Stellaris\gfx\models\planets
(your game path may be different)

This (obviously) removes all the planet models. When the game loads they and up looking like wierd colored cube things. Refer to link below.

The end result is this: https://imgur.com/a/z6UuO

I didn't even know what megalophobia was (Although of course the word mega gave me a good start), so I read a bit into it.

I feel I have something similar or perhaps the same but not as extreme to call it a phobia in my case.

For example, in certain games, such as Descent Freespace 2, you fly in nebulas (Like super dense fog) and see a shimmer of an object, and it totally scares the ♥♥♥♥ out of me when it turns out to be an absolutely enormous ship. Or you fly in deep space and suddenly you see a giant warp field warping in a big ship all of a sudden. Especially so if it feels like it's happening right in front of your face, but it's miles away from you and just huuuuuge.

The sense of dread gets removed very quickly after the realisation sets in "Oh, that's a big ship that warped in but it's just sitting there guarding the place"; and I don't feel anything like what the phobia is describing during a game like Stellaris.

To better describe it, here's a picture:

https://lparchive.org/Freespace-2/Update%2026/img-18.jpg

Basically you're a small fighter pilot (You're viewing from the camera/screenshot) and suddenly you see beams that are 200x your size and a spike in the top left corner that is absolutely enormous. This really gives me a feeling of dread the first few seconds.

No one else noticed a feeling similar that I'm describing here in any of the games you played?

how is it even possible to step outside and not be feared by the sheer size of the world ?

Trying to be cheeky, eh? I call and raise!

I conquered my fear of our planet because when I compared it to yo momma, I realized it was not that large.

Now that the joke is over; yes, there are people with that phobia.

i have a a fear of deepwater, planets, asteroids, stars, blackholes, canyons, mountains but anything manmade is fine it kinda eqates to my love of metalurgy and human machinery/production. im fascinated by what we can make and its 1 reason why i hate cheaply made objects lol.
