Cant win a war because another empire has occupied the enemy planet
Its has been around 100 years for my poor empire to expand itself by conquering its neightboor, but, everytime i invade, another empire declares war on them and occupies one or two planets before i do, thus rendering impossible to reach the required warscore. What can i do?

White peace offer to end the war, or attack the other guy who attacked your guy.

I see, its strange how he just invades every damn time i try, attacking him is not an option, while my target is crippled by the decades of attritional warfare with me, this other empire is one of the big guys.

perhaps, i could just ignore the war? i mean my target doesnt have any mean to rebuild a ship, maybe they could give in, or the other empire could stop the war

If you occupy all of theirs worlds that you can and continue to build your navy, you will continue to improve your warscore.

Relative size of navy and War Duration are both warscore modifiers. So the larger your navy and the longer the war has gone on, the better your chances of them simply surrendering.

If they surrender on their own, you can get wargoals you normally can't, such as ceding a planet under occupation of another empire.

Failing that, cut your losses and accept only what war goals you can.
