Pause for Research
Is there any possibilty to auto-pause the game after a new research achievement? Anything else pauses, science of all things does not. If the (vanilla) game got no feature for that, does someone perhaps know a mod doing this? Thx.

Is it that hard to press space? ...

Perhaps I just want to run the game and make something else in the same time? Perhaps this is possible with all other things - but not science - why? Perhaps people ask questions in order to get an answer - and not kiddish re-questions?

Okay so, while you are right that this is currently not possible there's a mechanic in place that you'll probably like:

If you don't research anything, the points get pooled up. So if you have +10 Society research while not researching anything Society related, you will store up 10 Society points per month. There is also no cap to how many points you can store.

These stored points will be consumed for your next research up to twice your generation per month:

100 stored points
+10 per month.
Research costs 300 points:
The first 10 months, you will research at 20 (10 from your generation *2 until storage is empty) per month. This means that the first 200 research will be done in 10 months and then you need another 100 to complete it, which will take 10 months as well because the storage is now empty.

There are other crucial events in the game that do not pause the game for you either. So if you want to do other things, events like war do not get paused, and this is of course a really big problem if you come back later to find out you lost a war.

That is why I asked - to get a COMPETENT question, like yours. Thanks.
Right, some other things don't pause it either. Actually I do not see a certain system in the whole pausing mechanics. Why some things do pause the game and others don't.

Agreed. Some people even don't know they went to war (AI declared war on them) because it doesn't pause (And those status messages on top can really flood). The result is that they find out later and you can only set your war demands the first few months.

This really is annoying because now they can win a war at best only with "White peace", they can't gain anything from that anymore.

It makes no sense that very important things like wars do not pause the game and show a pop-up in the middle of the screen, while much smaller matters do. Even better would be to have an option screen so people can define which events they'd like a pause for.

Ah well, it is what it is right now. I don't think that part is moddable either.

I think it is moddable.
We have the on_actions
on_tech_increased
and
on_war_beginning.

You only need to code a popup event and add this to the on_action list and set the game setting "Event Auto-Pause" to On and (optional) "Event Auto-Unpause" to Off
