finish special projects command

So I was messing around with the console commands and used finish_special_projects. It worked on the debris and alien contact stuff but bugged my project for alien species procurement. It says in the situation log that the projects are complete but no rewards were given. Also I cant manually research them even though they are still showing up on the tracker. When I move a science ship to the system where the species is located it says already researched. Any way to reset this project or at least clear it from my log or did I break this particular game and need to restart?
