Automated Dreadnought
Just defeated the automated dreadnought (used two fleets coming from different directions). I attempted to repair it for my own fleet, but when I get the message saying that I repaired it and it will be added to my fleet... it's not. My fleet's power does not go up. I've reverted to an autosave and took my fleet out so that only my construction ship was in it and it still didn't spawn.

My question is a two parter:

1. Do I have to own the system it is in? At the time I destroyed and repaired it, another empire owned the star system, but I had access into their space.

2. Did I somehow screw up something?

The system ownership doesn't matter, it's most likely a bug I guess. I got mine as soon as I repaired it

=[

sorry for your bug

a ship worht 5k woulda been nice additon to your fleet.
5k!?!?!!?! Ah man. I didn't know it'd be that strong!

erm well its actually like 4.4 or something 4.7
Its mostly just neat, idk that it really helps very much. its super slow so I put it in its own fleet, then it got seperated and destroyed while I wasnt looking lol. It IS really cool, but as far as like helping you in actual gameplay you're not missin gout on much. Now when the enigmatic fortress bugs then you are allowed to cry because

*****SPOILERS***** it has tier 6 power, tier 6 shields, and like 3 other pretty nifty things. you can get tier 6 armor from the ether drake as well. I also *think* you can hatch your own and have your own dragon but ive never done that.
I've only seen the dreadnought twice. First time I was playin with some buddies and they found it before me, but it was in my territory (I was ceded a few planets in a war and the dreadnaught was in the territory i received). This last game was the second time. I've seen the fortress once. I attempted to attack, but my fleet of 40k wasn't up to the task.

you can pay the curators for a dmg bonus against it, and also for some tips in the quest that follows (you have to make choices, and if you get it wrong it power back up and attack you, or shuts down forver)

Also it help a lot to know that Enigmatic Fortress armed with pure kinetic ^_^

lol here comes corisai dropping stat spoilers right on cue ;D
Seems to me that if I can take down a fallen empire, I should be able to take down some of these random things.

definitely. it depends pretty heavily on your build but you can take them down with like 20-40k
they're not all creted equal though. Some are much stronger than others

You're not wrong. I was able to take down one fallen empire with a test fleet of 22.4k (to see how I would fair. I had no delusions of winning) This fleet was mostly kinetic as I had researched the top level cannon that through debris (I'm kinda war like). I was shocked when I destroyed their fleet. Ended up being able to reverse engineer psi-jump drives.

The second fallen empire I was able to take down, they destroyed my first fleet and took 3 of my planets before I was able to put a stop to them, take my planets back and kick them in the teeth. I rebuilt (and remodeled) my fleet at my main fleet building planets on the far side of my empire where I had gotten lucky and had 3 planets in 1 system.

The main reason I was gonna test myself to see how much I still needed was that I knew one of the four would awaken and I would much rather not it be one near me. The two I took down, I was dead center between them. The third fallen empire is too far from me to do more than just hit and run. The 4th is on the exact opposite side of the galaxy and luckily for me, they're the one that decided to wake up. They now own as much land as I do and I've been in a near state of expansion for 300 years. I almost feel bad for the guys on that side of the galaxy. Almost. They refuse to give me minerals for energy (for some reason, I have yet to find an enclave)

I was reffering to the leviathans. 20-40 for them.
The fallen arnt too bad, most mid-game empires should be able to beat them in a war, if not complete cession, then at least a few worlds, or white peace very least. beofre I woulda recomend waiting for 40-50k to take on a fallen but now with your story of success i will have to rethink that. :D
Once they wake up tho its rly 50/50 They've always stomped me before with like 200k or more and wipe me.
Though, in a game I am playing now with one other, The war in heaven has occurred, drawing in almost everyone in the (large) galaxy. Im leading the league of non-aligned powers so am at war with about 4/5 of the galaxy. Though I have about +40% warscore in each war now so wish me luck, might beat an awakened sleeper for the first time, 2 at once even! Just in time for the crisis i'll bet lol. wish me luck
The only time I do alliances is with my buddies when we play multiplayer. One of my buddies made us download a total star wars conversion mod. (I'd highly suggest it. See link below) The only reason I survived early game is one of the advanced (not fallen) empires saw me and took piety. I was allowed to join their alliance as a full member. I promptly renamed it from whatever they defaulted it to, to the Axis of Evil! (the ! was in part of the new name). I had already agreed to form an alliance with my two buddies, but where I was, I was too scared to do much as I was completely surrounded and ended up colonizing a long stretch of planets that wouldn't allow me to have connected boarders. Fast forward 200 years and the Axis of Evil! is the single strongest group of empires. Fast forward 10 years and two of the founding members left the alliance because of me. (Turns out purging doesn't go over well in the Axis of Evil!. Go figure.) This left the Mandalorians (who loved me and I'm unsure why) and my two buddies in the alliance. I ended up leaving the alliance and declaring war on them so that my buddies could get the jump drive through reverse engineering. During that time, things went to heck in a hand-basket. The Sith Empire invaded the alliance. The Jedi and their 7 allies attempted to take half my worlds. Ended up just glassing two entire empires into oblivion. Good times...

I've never seen a War in Heaven. I'm assuming it's because I'd rather attack them than wait for them to do anything other than roll over and die.

actuqally I think attacking them makes it more likely they will wake up.
as long as you dont conquer them all too quickly lol

I, on the other hand, think that the Dreadnought is actually game changing. I get it at 2270 and at that point, the enemy fleets are just around 10-15 k. The thing with the Dreadnought is that it's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tanky. You seperate it from your main army (which I assume consist of mostly corvettes at that time) and let it go first so it could tank all the damage. It could tank the entire 10k fleet damage for around 1 minute, which is more than enough for the rest of your army to finish the job. That ship is near impossible to kill early game since it heals so fast and when things get rough, you can just retreat it away. Its weapon system is beast as well, triple that of a late game battleship. In a 15k vs 15k battle, if you have the Dreadnought, you could annihilate the enemy's fleet without losing a single unit. You can also merge it into your fleet to get the captain bonus. If you are lucky and the enemy focus fire on it during the battle (which happen very frequently), you will win guaranteed.
