I will never have a Single Achievement in Stellaris.

As the Title Says.
I cannot enter ironman Mode. Because I dont use the Steam Cloud.
I am not using Clouds so I will never get an Achievement.
I got no Idea why this is Forced but its Stupid.

Its fine that Achievements only go in Ironman.
But I am not going to be part of a Cloud for that.

Just wanted to say it.

Thats the thing.

Stellaris Achievements Require that you Enable the Steam Cloud which Synchronizes your Steam Settings when using different Computers.
It does not actually Save Games in the Cloud. Nor does it require you to use the Steam Cloud.
It just needs to be enabled so its Synchronizing your Stuff on other Devices.

I am actually saving my HOI4 Savegames in the Steam Cloud.
You dont need the Synchronize Option enabled for this.

To Begin with the Synchronize Option has no effect on the Game.
All it does is Storing Settings and Online and then Applies it to the Steam Client when you use it on a different Computer.

This is fine if you run it on different Devices and Computer on which you Play.
But its a Hassle if your like me using it on Devices which have different Specs and different Connections.

For example.
My Main Computer with Steam Auto Updates stuff all the time.
But my Tablet which is usually running on my Mobile Internet Connection. Is not supposed to have this setting. It should only do Updates when I tell it to do so.
Because otherwise it will use up my Mobile Data Limits.

I won't be getting any achievements either, if it makes you feel any better. I play exclusively co-op with a friend of mine, and co-op games don't count towards achievements.

But it's OK... I am more interested in playing the game with my friend than in achievements.

Peoples here already have proved that you can get achievements without Steam cloud. So how it's possible for you not getting achievements?

Simply :
1) You're playing into pirated version of game on tablet or laptop and have official version only on PC.

2) You're playing without being logged into Steam (offline mode, or restricted/disabled internet connection).

3) You're playing with mods and/or without Ironman.

In any case - it's your fault.

It is Unreasonable because it is without Reason lol.

It is not Required to put a Savegame into the Steam Cloud for Ironman.
Which is interestingly not needed for Ironman anyways.

I currently would go as far as considering this a Bug honestly.

I mean Paradox for HOI4 made it so. That to Play Ironman. You had to Put the Savegame into the Steam Cloud. So you could not Temper that Savegame thus making your Achievements True.

But Stellaris only demands you Activate Steam Cloud for your Steam Client.
Which has no effect on the Game itself. It only Synchronizes your Steam Clients among different Devices.
You can still Temper with the Savegame if you want because you can Save the Game on your Computer with no Checks on it.

So one Logical Explanation for this Demand which makes no Sense.
Is that its actually a Bug. They tought Enabling Steam Cloud would Put Saves into Steam Cloud or something so it cannot be Manipulated.
But thats not the case and the Ironman Game which gives achievements is not actually Protected right now.


It makes no Sense to do this.
Hence Unreasonable.

I am logged in on Steam and I am using Steam Cloud for Ironman on HOI4.
I am not using the Steam Cloud in the Steam Settings which serves only to Synchronize Settings for the Steam Client.
But for Stellaris its this Cloud you need to have Enabled despite it not having any Effect on the Game.

Get this into your Head.
The Thing Required for it to use Achievements.
Is the Steam Cloud Enabled in your Settings.
Its even saying that in the ToolTip of Stellaris.

All your ideas are wrong.

Stellaris only wants this Setting to be on.
It makes no Sense so I dont complain this being hard to Understand.
But thats how it is.

you can also play the game and everytime you do something you would get an achievement for, use the achievement tool to unlock in in steam

Just have to say, the upside of steamcloud is if your HDD ♥♥♥♥♥ the bed, you don't lose all your save games.
