Intel HD Graphics 5500
I have a computer that appears to meet the other requirements, but my graphics card is an Intel HD Graphics 5500. I am wondering if this would be good enough to run Stellaris and Utopia. I'm not super knowledgeable about this, but it looks like it might be too slow. Thanks guys.

I play on a high end machine now but I once played this on an HD 4400 well enough. Gonna ahve to keep things modest though Just know your unlikely to be able to set the speed very high

That's not a graphics card, it's graphics processing integrated in to your CPU. The 5500 should be able to run Steallaris but only on low settings and you won't be able to set your speed to fastest, plus you might run in to some serious stalling out during late-game when there's a crap ton of things going on.

If you do get Stellaris go ahead and try everything out but be prepared to stick to smaller galaxy sizes and normal speed.

the intel hd 5500 runs the game on medium settings pretty fine on my laptop! The game is light and very well optimized for intel. Runs very smooth

It should, it's only a 32 bit engine after all.

Its not the graphics that make it light. It can be rather demanding even

Stellaris doesn't need a high-end PC: it's own engine limitations mean that even if you keep firing processing power at it, you won't see the difference.

Now, OP: you should be able to run it okay. End-game lag will probably be hell whatever you do anyway, but one thing is for sure: you won't be able to zoom in on large late-game fleet battles. You'll have to either leave the system and see what's happening with the battle info panel, or keep things zoomed out as much as possible. I'd also try and limit my use of missiles, if I were you. Mass drivers (kinetic weapons) are the best because they're pretty much invisible, so your processor won't melt trying to display them all. And as others have noted, setting the game to Very Fast might also be impossible after a while. Other than that, you should be fine.
