Research Speed.

but dont sentient ai give you 10% research buff when they research, but i agree that overall research buff is better in the end.

Sentinent AI gives 10% but is considered a dangerous tech that can trigger an AI rebellion and the Keepers of Knowledge FE will have a negative opinion of you.

The 5% bonus has no side effects.

oh well i took the ai - i am fanatic peaceful and xenophobe i will welcome them as equals....whats the worst that can happen. for now i havent built any robots so i get the bonus for nothing, but I have a faction has got synth envy now.

That's about the answer I expected from someone with that avatar.

You'd have gotten the AI tech anyway otherwise while the 5% bonus for free has no other way ob obtainal.

Can you still get an AI Rebellion from just Synthetic AI, even if you don't research Synthetic robots?

Either way, I love Synths! Not had a Rebellion yet so my opinion may change when that happens.

Synths get a good bonus to Energy and Research and still keep the generic robot bonus to Minerals. They have no bonus to Unity, but unlike Droids and Robots they don't have a penalty to Unity.

This line also gets you Synthetic AI for ship combat computers, which are probably en par with Psionic combat computers. Android Armies are also pretty darn strong, though your Robotic Armies won't upgrade to them.

Also, if you get the appropriate Sociology research, Synths can become Leaders as well. I'd assume these leaders cannot die of old age, and they get some decent bonuses, though they are always the same ones.

Plus, if you have the 'Flesh if Weak' Ascencion perk already, you can get the Synthetic Evolution perk which converts all your native Pops and Synths into one new race (which you can rename).

Along with having a lot of Synth and their bonuses, this perk also reduces the maintainence cost of all Synths and doubles their build time, meaning new Synth pops take 15 months to grow.

I don't know if a Synthetic Evolution race is susceptible to a Machine Rebellion. This also annoys Holy Guardian Fallen Empires, giving you a -60 'Souless Machines' reputation debuff with them.

dont worry im not a noob and i have only met one fallen and he is materialist. i am going full machine. time to leave my weak butterfly body behind.

It is the materialists who get upset by synthetic AIs. Check out their opinion of you.

PS. I have had sentinent AI many times and they have never complained or attacked. They might start getting narky if you continue down the path of AI and synths though. I don't know because I generally don't use droids.

For the infinity sphere reward, the only way you get a chance at the best reward is to already have the sentient ai and the zero point reactor techs. The reward you can get then far outstrips everything else you can get so long as the black hole is inside your territory. Suffice to say, you will know if you got it.

It's been updated so they solely get upset by robotics and not ai techs.

If we're talking about the Fallen Empires, then yeah. I assume the reason they are fallen is they've been there, done that, and don't want it happening again.

The religious ones get annoyed if you turn your race into robots.
