It's an event that has a small chance to happen after you kill the ether drake, you get an egg you can hatch into a small dragonling. So if you didn't get the event you just wont have it that game.

You need to build mine station on dragon hoard. There are two events, first for dragon scale armor (lvl 6) then second for drake. You'll have to wait for quite some time tho. Alternatively you can just google event id and trigger it with console command.

I didn't get the dragonscale armor :(
I did get the mission for baby drake, which is pretty good. You just have to build the mining station and eventually the event appears

So if you want to cheat
First type the ~ to get to the console (non ironman games)
event guardian.663 - this should get you the egg project
event guardian.661 - this will get you the bones project to get the dragon scale armor.




BTW all these event can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stellaris\events\guardian_events.txt

I was looking thru the events a while back and it looks like the dragon egg event will normally only pop up if the star system where the dragon hoard is located has a planet you can colonize. If I read the events corectly it is a planet_event, not a country_event. This means you never will see the egg event if the dragon hoard 30 minerals and 30 energy does not have a planet in the same star system.

I have always had planets in the system where the Drake Spawns. I read somewhere that he won't spawn if you have FEs in game, but I got him in my current. Just waiting on the events now.

My last game had the dragon hoard but no planet, the egg event never triggered but I did get the dragon scales, they are a country_event. I actually think it is a minor bug by the developers doing a copy and paste while writing the code. Maybe they will see this thread and check it out. Having the dragon is a nice addition to one of your fleets or just send it around on its own.

I got the Dragon Egg event a few years after the Scale event.

You get the egg after about 2400 months, the dragon scales come around 1200 months.
