Quest Location Center of the Galaxy
Have had this happen several times in the ecliptical (or whatever) galaxy shape, huge, maps.. notably with max a.i.. so, been wondering what to do,.. is it just a bug and it's then impossible?

Yep, its a bug

If you see a shining light in the center of the galaxy, it's actually possible to get there, you just need psi-jump-drive and be able to reach the system closest to the center.

First position yourself in one of your own systems right on the edge of the center of the galaxy.

You then need to jump as far as possible *across* the center, toward a system owned by a different empire, with a science ship and hit "return" so it does an emergency jump back to a system you own.

This will cause the ship to suck into the black hole at the center of the galaxy, thus reaching the shining light and allowing you access to the hidden system there containing the planet that will allow you to continue your quest line.

Don't jump out of this system as it is accessible only once, and the AI race that owns the system will prevent you from returning.

This is actually nonsense, and it's a bug, but it was fun to type out, and i'm bored. It is pretty fun to see your ship suck into the center of the galaxy though.

I have a mental picture of your fingers poised over your keyboard until the final sentence, then raising fists in anger and shouting NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO at the sky.

Whether it happened or not makes no difference.
ah, I didn't even read the last part.. at least I didn't try it yet.. though it is a weird bug

Actually, it's edited, so you must have added that in after I read it the first time.

Nah the only edit was taking the word "all" out from in front of the word "nonsense" because most of it is true. Once your ship travels to the center of the galaxy it gets "lost" and takes a while to return but doesn't actually go into any secret system.

I've waited centuries in my current game for one of the AI empires/federations to conquer the rest of the galaxy and come to challenge me. I've had some spare time to play with bugs.

Indeed, needless to say my trust is pretty low in your statement.

You may have got me, but ♥♥♥♥ dude I really wanna see something like that now. It'd be really cool for someone to make a mod allowing you to travel to the Galaxy's Center. Maybe there could even be a Endgame Crisis about it, where it'd go something like this:

Traces of incredibly old technology, dated BEFORE the Big Bang are found near the edges of the Galaxy's Center. Before anyone can make heads or tails of it, an entire group of World-Devouring Leviathans, older than time itself, charge out of the core. As it turns out, long ago, there was one great world before the big bang. It's name was Terra Ultimis. Unfortunately, this massive planet suffered from severe instability, since it held all known matter in the universe. An Empire of Leviathans soon emerged, and they began conquering Terra. Eventually, after tens of thousands of years, Terra Ultimis was united under the Leviathan Empire. But after the death of the one known simply in records as "The Original" left the Empire leaderless, the ensuig civil war was so great, so devastating, that the Terra Ultimis splitered apart and created the Universe as we know it today. The Remains of the Empire sought shelter in the dark crevices of space, Black Holes. Only their unique body compisition and almost god-like durability and strength allowed them to resist the Void. Now, the Leviathans are coming back to take back the Universe, and they start with your own Galaxy!

I totally thought the L-Cluster was going to be in the galactic center, though maybe because I read too quickly/carelessly when I was first exploring the game. Was a soft disappointment to learn its not. I figured there was going to come some unveiling similar to when a world transforms and the white ball in the center would reveal a new inner map.

Ahem, necro from 2017 >_< C'mon...
TheNightglow Jul 19, 2023 @ 2:19am
holy... its a necro from 2017 that reports on a common bug that is still in the game to this day...
why was this never fixed O_O

when I saw the title I was like, yea I ma give my experience with this bug as well, and then I see the thread is from 2017

for me this happens every time I ask the curators to give me a point of interest
the POI is always the center of the galaxy

Same. Lots of events center my camera on the galactic center instead of the reference point. A minor hassle but a pretty common one.
