Loading cloud savegames from another location
So... As I googled I found some stuff. However, nothing really helpful and some information is outdated. (saying to move my local cloud saves from one pc to another)
Isn't it possible to load my savegames, which are in the cloud, to be continued from another location i.e. another pc.
I saw that my empires and save games, created on desktop, weren't available on laptop.
What does the cloud option then really add to this game? I want to continue my games from different locations...
I really expected that this kind of technology would be standard in 2017 :/ .

I am not really in the mood to make some shared and automatically updated directories across multiple platforms...

Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend.

"Local cloud"? What are you smoking? You get one or the other.

You have to save the game as a cloud save. When you click save game there should be an indicator, a cloud on the save game that says wheter it's cloud or not.

A red cloud means it's local, a green cloud means it's a cloud save.

You need an internet connection and playing steam online to save to the cloud and you need to be connected to steam online with an internet connection to play the save on another computer.

Local saves are saved to your computer, cloud saves are saved to your steam user. Internet connection is required to connect to the cloud.

If you want to make a cloud save then make a new save and mark it as "save to cloud", then go on your laptop, log in and start stellaris and then load the cloud save. Preferably saving it locally so you can play your save offline.

Just remember not to mess up your cloud and local save and overwrite something.

I have done exactly as you told, and neither works.
Both enabled in the options menu, and when saving the game I check the box to sync with the cloud...

green cloud near the save, is it there?

Make sure you haven't made any mistakes

1) remember you can only be logged into the same steam user with one computer at a time
2) make sure you haven't done any tampering (mods, editing) or if you have, do the same tampering on the other computer in question.
3) Make sure you have a viable internet connection and properly close stellaris and log out of steam before logging back in.

Screenshots of your problems can only help.

Same problem here. I can just add that mods doesn't affect this in any way. I can load game with completely different set of mods :/
