Galaxy Shape Decision...
Hi Team, which type of galaxy shape do you play, and why?
I'm thinking of starting a new 1000 system game and would be interested to understand the pros and cons, Thanks

I always pick two arms, because I like how it looks, and helps create some natural chokepoints in warp only games.

I prefer cluster but I also play on four arms. I like the cluster because even if you have a region with low density stars you can usually move into a more dense one before the AI tries to lock you out.

2 or 4 arms. I like 4 for the numerous choke points, and jumping from your starting arm becomes a big boost to your growth and exploration oppotunities.

4 armz, the rest is just a bore.

The standard layout tends to be very predictable and a bit too easy to play for warp empires. While a four armed spiral is what our real galaxy actually looks like (Though the other types do exist far, far away)

Spiral's are more fair to hyperlane and wormhole empires because everything is tightly packed together. This can make playing a tall xenophobe extremely easy, while not handicapping every other style at the same time.
