How to find Leviathans?

So im planning to fo the leviathan quest, but I have a question, how can I find them? Will I have a message that notify me of the presence of a Leviathan, or I will bave to find them myself? Thx

You have to find them on your own (or with starchart trading), and depending on your galaxy size, not every leviatan (or even a single one) will be in your galaxy. The bigger the map, the more around. Tiny maps can spawn 0-2 afaik.

If you find one on your own, you will get a popup message. If you traded starcharts, check the red warning markers in new sytsems if one was found. A good way to estimate if some are around, is finding a Curator enclave. If a Leviathan was spotted by someone already, they should have a "mysteries of the univerese" text and help option for it. Makes it easier to know "what" is in the galaxy if you play on 600+ stars.

I believe that you get a message of one if you find it in a sytem you're currently scouting. If none are nearby but you were lucky enough to find a curator enclave (the one with the book icon) you can purchase a waypoint to one on the map. Also you require the leviathan dlc to find them in the first place (I am assuming you have it but just incase)

Curators sold me coorditanes to one levaiathan but dont want to sell me any other charts ;p
THere are 4 levaiathans in my galaxy following what u said about them selling out tips on how to defeat them.

I think i have traded for the map of whole galaxy already(i am in 2400) is there a possibility that AI killed other levhiatans ? Is there a way to find out if they did ?
