Quick way to get Psionic Theory in early game?
I just don't seem to get it. My species ethics are spirituals, authoritarian, and militarist.

So far its been almost 200 years and I've yet to get Psionic Theory!

Any tips?

I'd like to know that as well, not seen it pop up yet.

Have you tried increasing your research alternatives?

Pick the right trait for your scientist like maniac, kurator or psionic theory for psy technologies.

No guarantees just lucky rolls. See the wiki for specifics on which things give you better odds of getting the tech as an option.

Thing is I have terrible luck with getting scientists with the right trait.. Suppose I need to just keep trying

Get a maniac scientist for society research. Should pop up after not too much time. There are other ways, but maniac is the most common trait that increases the chance it will show up.

Focus on society
Don't spread out to too many ♥♥♥♥♥♥ low capacity planets.
Get exploration perks
Embrace faction that is spiritualist or even better take spiritualist at the start (but you'll lose out on the research bonus)

does Fanatic Spiritualist have a higher chance then Spiritualist (normal Spiritualist )????

Get scientist as I had. Maniac searcher + psyonic specialist.
Bonuses to chance of psi theory roll:
Fanatic piritualist empire (simple spiritualism doesn’t give bonuses)
Maniacal searcher scientist (best roll bonus)
Psi specialist

On screenshot I rolled it as fanatic materialist without intention to focus only on getting it.

Yes. Fanatic doubles the chances of the tech being available...
Maniac, Curator and Genius all work in your favor of getting Psionic Theory so long as you do not have Materialism - Materialists can never roll it unless they have a researcher with the Psionic Trait (damn hard to get tho) or they overtake a psionic race and recruit one of their psionic leaders.

You can get a 4x modifier if you are Spiritualist
Psionic Theory gives a 4x modifier (but usually you won't get this unless you already have psionic theory)
Maniac gives a 2x (could be 3) Modifier
Curator and Genius gives a 1.5x (could be 2) modifier.

Hope the RNG bless you.

I vouch for the maniacs. Towards the mid game I keep at least one whack job to lead a research department.

Go for a science heavy empire, focus on social labs early, take things for extra tech options, get a spark of genius scientist to do social research, research the shortest techs first to shuffle options around.

Other than that you might have success with having an empire with short lifespans to shuffle around scientists faster for that level-up psionics trait.

Uhm. You get the psi technology from the acension perk "mind over matter" which is only availible to spirital empires.

Don't need to be materialist to go for intelligent pops and focus labs over mines. ^^
