That would be an intresting one im not sure if fits the name hunters but it would make a cool crisis idea.
Something like the rakghoul plauge form kotor or proto molecule from the expanse would make a diffrent enough crisis
Eh im counting war in heaven as a crisis its clouse enough to count
From the wiki page linked in the OP: "They also state that peace is impossible since they need to feed before returning to the void between galaxies."
I'm interpreting that as extradimensional, but it is possible that it means literally extragalactic space rather than extradimensional. It would be a little odd to try to flee a threat that is coming from extragalactic space by fleeing into extragalactic space, but I guess if you are desperate enough you might try anything.
I do believe that they (the Prethoryn, and also Paradox) are trying to say that they (the Prethoryn) are fleeing from the Unbidden, but that is just my interpretation. Other interpretations are possible, so if someone wants to believe something else then that's fine.
no i think there are sayin the prethon swarm needs to feed before leaving to go to the space between galaxys and find another galaxy feed then repeat
I got the impression the swarm was fleeing galaxy to galaxy as the hunters chased them extra galactic space is infinitely big so as long as they dont back track they can flee out into dark soace fine without ruining into the hunters.
The unbidden thing kind of makes sense as they are basically hunting the galaxies species for sport and food but im not sure if there portrayed as being powerful enough to cush the swarm outrightgiven the swarm is implied to have been far more powerful in the past and the unbidden arent really a bigger threat than the curent swarm.
If a species has the psionic trait it will be able to communicate with the Prethoryn Scourge. They will explain that they're the last survivors of a race and the word "Prethoryn" specifically means "survivor". They also explain that they were driven to near extinction by a species referred to as "The Hunters" and that they will eventually also come to the galaxy as they've hunted the Prethoryn for eons possibly destroying the galaxy in the process. They also state that peace is impossible since they need to feed before returning to the void between galaxies. The Prethoryn "HAK HAK HAK!" isn't laughing at the other empires for trying to stop them, it's laughing at them for thinking they might survive something like The Hunters.
iam sure they are refering to themselvs when they say that peace is impossible since they need to feed before returning to the void between galaxies.
Since Stellaris is a game filled with references and tropes, void between galaxies almost certainly means extra-galactic rather than extra-dimensional.
The Shroud being it's own thing also points that way.
Yhea i wanted to do that with a ring world and have one section for each member butyou can only transfer whole systems not single planets
