AI still not attacking The Unbidden
Hi all,

Does anyone else still have this issue? None of the Ai are attacking the unbidden or trying to stop them; they just let them walk over them and that is it. Even the fallen and awakened don't do anything and just get wiped out! Since they arrived in the galaxy 75 years ago, not a single Ai fleet has attacked them or tried to do anything...it has only been me. After 10 long years of fighting, I have been ground down and now I simply don't have enough minerals or producction capacity to keep up wiht the losses I am taking.

Yes, I let them farm an empire I don't like but in the end, not even the awaken attack the unbidden fleets, so I end the crisis myself

The problem with the AI is that their fleets run away trying to "merge" but they never do. This leads to unnecessary chases around the galaxy. this is also why they don't want to confront Unbidden fleet stacks.

I had a Fallen Empire awaken in response to the Unbidden and go on a crusade against them, and they were definitely attacking the Unbidden ships and anchors. They were actually losing the war before I stepped in and helped them close the portal, but they + the surrounding empires were active against the invaders.

Yeah, I've seen this as well, and I agree that it most likely plays a role in what the OP is seeing. Also, it seems like the AI simply will not engage if the odds are not in their favor, regardless of how 'dire' the situation is. In my case, the empires around the Unbidden only started stepping in once the tide of the war turned.

Its funnier even when a FE Wakes up to protect the galaxy and then happily declares war on the one empire that is actually fighting the unbidden

In my game it was 1000 Unbidden killed by me, and perhaps 200 killed by AI.

It was even a bit weird, when a fleet arrived just in time to shoot down the portals last hitpoint after I had beaten it - and then getting the 'This empire defeated the unbidden'.

Yes, I think this is exactly the problem...the AI doesn't think it can win the fight and so doesn't try...but can't take into account that if they do nothing they will die. It is frustrating as a few of my attacks on the portal would have worked if there had been maybe only 10, 20K more fleet power around to finish it while my more advance forces hold the unbidden fleets back.

i want the old unbidden mechanic back ... the empires fight the unbidden with tiny fleets to destroy unbidden station formations
the new mechanic with the anchors is meh

I had the opposite problem, the Unbidden didn't want to attack anything! They expanded ok for a bit but then arbitrarily decided that was enough and sat there doing nothing for decades before I eventually got around to removing them.

I forced the awakened fallen empire in my game to deal with the unbidden for me. I just gave the colony they were about to attack to them and they rushed in to defend "their" planet.

Now that is a cunning plan my friend...any relation to Baldrick?

Ai dont really merge their fleets to fight them, especially since everyone is rival / enemy to everyone else.
So, 10 AI with each a 50k fleet wont cooperate, because most hate each other, and will die one after the other.

Allied AI then have to deal with different FTL methods...and closed borders.
Hyperdrive AI are utterly useless, WH ones need time to build their stations, only warp AI seem to be able to be in position to fight.
Too bad, their allies can never join in time.

So, only FE AI are really in a position to do something, because they are strong by themselves.

It doesnt help that the player main occupation duing the first 150 years is generally to weaken and divide everyone.
