Armies tab disappearing in outliner

I have a bug going on that I haven't seen documented elsewhere, I'm currently trying to take over the whole galaxy and i've noticed that every now and again that in my outliner, the armies tab just disappears, more specifically it almost acts is if I disabled the armies tab in the outliner options and it happens every other month (1,3,5,7,9,11) only during a war and after testing I have found no way to fix the bug after it occurs, there is no way to bring the tab back. Waiting extensive periods of time, training new armies, going into the settings and enable/disabling the armies tab, moving the armies tab up and down in the queue. Nothing works. Not only that but there is only 1 way to prevent this as well, disband a fleet of around 15-20+ army units, I have tried everything (disband smaller armies, messing with the army tab in the outliner, splitting or combining fleets, etc.) and that's the only solution that works and the only way I can cope with the bug. i'm thinking it's some weird memory overflow problem and that every 2 months the game is checking the status of my armies and is deciding they don't exist unless I destroy 20 army units. Other than that it may be something to do with how many things in the outliner as I have several small fleets, over 20 in habitats, 9 planets factions, 13 sectors, etc (disabling everything besides military fleets and armies didn't work either, other than that I am getting a slight amount of lag so maybe that might have something to do with it? If anyone has any info or other solutions or has had this happen to them too it would be appreciated. I have a GTX 970, Intel I7 and run Windows 10. Verifying file cache and uninstall reinstall, system reboot, etc accomplished nothing

Turns out you can SOMETIMES bring the menu afterwards by sacrificing a single/15-20 unit(s) (though I swear I thought I already tested this) and while this reduces losses, the bug IS still there and it's very temperamental when it comes to deciding if your blood sacrifice was large enough to bring back the army tab

I have same problem. I just turned off all Planets and left only Sektors showing. Armies so far always there, not disappearing. Maybe it will help you too. Try it out.

I wonder. How many items have you displayed in the outliner when nothng is minimized? How many planets, starbases, fleets, ... ?
Does minimization of other categories but planets also allow the armies to be displayed?

I have just built over 2000 clone armies to fight in a genocide HOWEVER the army's tab seems to have disappeared.

I had exactly this problem today. Looked through forum to check up on hints how to fix and no one had a solution. So I hope this will help when I say mine came back on its own after I had totally wiped out one of the other races. You know how there's usually a fairly long pause while the game sorts out your new territories, well lo and behold the armies tab came back when it redrew the galaxy map. Don't know if this was coincidence or just like a complete UI reset after taking over an entire race's territory. If it is a solution then I guess it's quite an extreme solution to have to beat an entire civilisation in order to get it back. Fingers crossed it doesn't disappear again lol.

Edit: Five minutes later after doing some other stuff it disappeared again...

OK once again I managed to "fix" the problem. This time I did it by going through the Species dialog and going through each species one at a time setting the entire species to just one of the many templates listed. After I'd done it for all species the Army tab came back again. From this behaviour and previous posts I reckon it is a memory issue that the game can only cope with a certain level of complexity. The "fix" has lasted for over 30 minutes now, a lot longer than previously when I thought I'd fixed it. Fingers crossed :)

still having this problem in 2023 anyone know if someone posted this on the main paradox-forums i don't have an account with them .... well i think anyway but have 1 army of 50 and it disappeared on me was just about to build more armys to start my conquest when they just disappeared on me

This is a graphical issue that happens when you make so many armies the outliner can't display them all anymore.

If you can't locate your armies then chances are you made them land on a planet, otherwise keep them on aggressive stance and separate them so they follow your fleets but beware if they all invade the same planet as this will cause them to merge.
