Is there a way to add one tech using console commands?
I know you can add them all but what about just one?

Because teaching someone how to mod is something that is best done through the wiki which has a dedicated section up for it, I am simply going to give you the line for it, everything else, you'll have to figure out yourself on the wiki:

give_technology = tech_automated_exploration

replace tech_automated_exploration with whatever tech you want. Like I said, this line (or any line to add one tech) doesn't work in the console, you have to make a mod for it.

Open console. Type: effect give_technology = { 'tech = tech_id' }

Adds specific tech through console

You just made a thread about this just two hours ago.
If someone knows, they will answer. Or use google.

Ok, thanks a lot! I don't know how to mod at all so do you know any mods that can do that or something similar?

He gave all essential information.
* you CAN'T add one tech via console command
* you CAN add one tech via mod
* explain where one can achieve the knowledge to create mods, a feat that's not suited for a short post but something that requires dedication and personal research to attain

It's a friggin' perfect example of a helpful and clear post.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks! I knew their had to be some command for it.

That used to only work pre 2.0 for triggering up events. I haven't tried yet for 2.0.

Edit: I can indeed confirm that it works now.

i tried using this
effect give_technology = { tech = mega_engeneering }
but i can't get it to work, what am i doing wrong?
TSP Mar 1, 2018 @ 9:59am
It only works for technologies that can be gained through events. So if there isn't an existing event that can give mega engineering (You also typed it wrong by the way) (i.e. the infinity machine can give AI technology) then the code won't work at all.

Therefore, once again, you have to mod in events for technologies.
