Blocked by Fallen Empire on 4 Arm Spiral

Hi guys.

I'm playing a new game with some settings I never tried before:
Spiral Galaxy
Wormhole FTL

I was having lots of fun starting out my empire... I was exploring and I realised after about 4 hours of play that I'm blocked in the arm by the end of the arm on one side and a fallen empire on the other side.

Is there anyway for my to cross the spiral arm? Should I just give up the game or is there another way to get round them?

Shame, I was liking this game until this happened...

honestly the range of the Worm drive should allow you to cross the spiral arms as normal.

Though if they don't reach, then keep an eye out for Wormhole tech that improve the range and speed of those drives.

Spiral arms are the worst map type IMO. Waste of time.

No way to solve your problem until you get better wormhole tech.

Interesting, so I will be able to cross the arm eventually? I can't seem to at the moment, but I'm quite near the end of the arm...

The tech I'm looking for... it increases your wormhole range?

Yes. It is RANDOM when you get this tech to increase your range. When crossing into another arm... look for the closest star to that arm and build a wormhole station on it. If that star is not part of your empire - add a frontier outpost to make it easier :)
