Imperial Authority Mechanics
It'd be nice to see at least a few extra imperial authority mechanics. From what I understand, right now, the only benefit to it is that there is no chance any faction but the Imperial one will ever get in power unless you do it manually. I dunno, maybe royal marriages between empires of the same species class(mammalians, avians, humanoids etc.), stuff like that.

i think it would be a good idea if you can train you heir to give him new traits. it should cost influence and maybe some energie but it would make them feel more like a real family member you care for.

Imperial authority is the worst ones. Not only you have 0 choise in who will rule, resulting in pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ rulers somethimes but it is also promotes totalitarism and hated by progressives. No reason to pick it unless you are slaver, in that case YOU must pick it. I always play as oligarchy or democracy, even if i dont have egalitarian ethic.

you can totally pick oligarcy as a slaver, which is what i do because eventually picking up meritocracy is important now that they nerft selected linages and capacity boosters

Imperial is the worst government type as you have no choice at all and you can end up with a very long living crappy ruler.

Only benefit is for authoritarian faction as it adds some bonus dictatorship doesnt have.

So, if you play auth, you pretty much have to be imperial.

I always make monarchies. I just like the roleplay aspect of a dynasty ruling a galaxy wide empire by divine right. This does however require changing the traits manually or constantly saving and reloading to get an heir of the appropriate sex with traits that don't such ass which is fine since it doesn't take TOO long.

It would be better however if heirs always inherited the traits of the ruler, you could select your ruler's traits, and you could limit the heir to a specific sex.
