So what does the golden gun do?
Because if it's just a fully upgraded pistol, I want my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ money back. Uh, the money spent on upgrading the pistol, not the game. The game is great.

It's shiny and classy and it makes you feel like you are James Bond, the man with the golden gun.. Is it not enough for you ?
What would you want, a silver surf ?

The gun does not actually change its color in game, so you lie.

Idk if do more dmg or jsut a skin color...
I've performed some more heavy google-ing, and found out an answer that might be true:
Finding all gold parts for your gun unlocks all uprades for it for free.

If this is true then developers made a huge design mistake not letting us know this, so that we could decide if we want to save cash and receive all upgrades late but for free or much sooner but for cash.

Now this is super stupid - I fully upgraded my gun at the moment I found last gold part. And even after that I had to waste my time trying to find out what did I just unlock by finding all parts. Super stupid decision in design.
Re-read my post. I wrote not "waste time for looking parts", I told "waste time to find out what did I just unlock by collecting all golden parts". This information is not given anywhere in the game.

If you are "not sure", you can waste time for googling as I did to find this out by yourself.

One shot kills, what else ? You already have infinite ammo and no reload, one shot kills will work for me.

Honestly, maybe a small bracket disclaimer at the bottom when we upgrade the pistol, or even when we receive a golden part would be great!

So you really do just lose all the money went into upgrading it...

Yeah, you lost that money. I was in a hurry back then and wasn't able to come up quickly with some nice addition, so I decided to simply upgrade it to max. It later turned out that some people try to save ammo by using the base gun wherever possible, so these people already had it maxed out. Hm. Lesson learned for the next game.

Have been doing this in almost all games, starting from Half-Life long ago :) I'm always in expectation that I'll meet "something big and scary" and keep ammo for powerful guns as long as I can. And almost always when the game is finished I regret about it :D

Yeah but that also means upgrading the base gun is the highest priority which makes the problem worse

Maybe give an in-game discount for other weapon upgrades in the terminal, or a flat cash bonus to spend the money on whatever you like?

I guess this means I should just restart the game, I got to the subway part, and all but my pistol are pretty useless at this point. Knowing I wasted all that money on the upgrades for something that gets fully upgraded free of charge means my other weapons are severely crippled for the rest of the game because the amount of money is fixed.

Just started playing this game (well, a day ago) even though I bought it ages ago, luckily, the update released this week seems to have added more damage for golden upgrade.

I would've been pissed if the golden upgrade just unlocked all pistol upgrades.
