Not only that, release dates on Steam also reflect the day it was released onto Steam, not when the game initially released on other platforms. Wouldn't make sense to have the release date for Vigor on Steam to read 2019, when it just released to Steam in full last month.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint, The Division 2 released on Steam later on and both of those games have different Steam release dates than their actual release dates.
Same applies to Early Access games like Squad, Hell Let Loose, Ready or Not and other E.A games I am not thinking of.
These games released in E.A years ago, but their posted release date reflects their full release date.
It's not something new nor is is a shady practice. Makes more sense to display the release date when a game full releases as well when a game is released to a new plattform.
Wouldn't make sense to have a game like Ready or Not which released in early access over 3 years ago display a 2021 release date when it full releases.
