Can we play FPS view ?
thanks !
IMHO the comparisons come about mostly because both are "extraction" shooters with looting elements but for me I feel the similarities end there. I would almost go as far to say that Vigor is kinda like if Tarkov & Fortnite had a baby it would be Vigor.
You get the 3rd person view, higher speed gameplay, fast twitch movement based gameplay of Fortnite with looter/extraction elements of tarkov.
Vigor atm has an issue where the gameplay is much too fast for the average player, players move and shoot at a speed the servers cant keep up with, the ttk way to fast to the point players have little outplay ability or ability to counter an attack. This coupled with a "all guns 1 shot to the head" mechanic but no "helmet" system to protect from this can at times lead to a very frustrating experience. I've been asking for either a helmet system or to change the headshot mechanic so that only rifle class guns have this 1 shot potential and to give the other weapons a proper headshot mechanic but I fear this never happens and on full release will be a sticking point for any serious gamers who try the game out.
And for FPS, you can't walk around and traverse the maps in FPP but you CAN go into 1st person ADS view when aiming/firing your weapon. I use 1st person view when I snipe for example. :)
Hope this helps answer your question, I'm not trying to sound negative but trying to be fully honest about the game. Hope to see you in early access or at the very least when it launces free to play. take care, pce
yes. you can queue in solo against 8-12 other solo outlanders OR you can turn on the "lone wolf" option and go in solo against teams of 2 & 3. (8-10 other players in teams)
Number of players is determined by the map, smaller maps feature 8 players and up to 12 players on the larger maps. many players, including myself long for 2 or more extra players per map - this stems from us having maxxed our shelters, collected everything, sitting on stockpiles of weaponry so we turn to purely being "hunters" in the game trying for as many kills per lobby as possible.
Not atm but a prestige system has been suggested to the devs by the players many times. The logical thing to do would be introduce shelter prestige. When a player gets max shelter allow them to prestige for a new durable/badge/title and start over the progress again. They would lose all guns, consumables, materials & shelter upgrades but retain their cosmetics & weapon/consumable "plans" .... this would add much replay value for players who would decide to "prestige" but again, I've been posting these exact words almost verbatim the past 2 years so I dunno if it's something we'll ever see or not.
right now one of the bigger gripes veteran players have is lack of "end game" content and this would go a long ways in filling that void.
It's just a PVP looter/shooter. Some of the maps are kinda "big" but nothing close to the open world maps of DayZ.
It also has two other game modes - shootout which is a fast paced "FFA" on small maps where you find guns scattered on small maps and respawn, 1st to 20 kills wins. And a 5 VS 5 TDM style "Elimination" mode.
1) How big is ingame storage for gear\items?
2) Does bodyarmor significantly affects surviveability?
3) Three best weapon in your opinion?
4) Advices for beginners, maybe some things you wish to know earlier?
1. Backpack has 25 "slots" for loot/consumables/ammo .. you take ammo/consumables in with you when you start a match & these will take up some of the 25 slots so you must plan accordingly. The amount of a resource/consumable you can carry in ONE of these slots differs by the "rarity" of the item.
2. An armor plate adds 50hp to the Outlander. You can only equip one at a time and only carry in 2 at a time.
3. Sadly the LMG class of weapons has been allowed to run amuck and ruin the meta the past 2 years so I could name almost any 3 of those game breaking guns ... ignoring the disgusting LMG BS I would say for AR - Bugle, M4A1 & L85 (with AUG A1 right there also)
But again, LMG atm are beyond broken, 100 round mags, zero recoil, high RPM, high DMG soul suckers. and ppl hide in bushes with them and ambush you ... you get zero chance to counter react or outplay .. just instant instant death.
4. Looting advice - learn the spawn locations of loot resources. Each map will have the same loot spawn on it at the same locations, memorize these as much as possible when upgrading shelter. Map knowledge and awareness is super important, the faster you start to learn a map, loot locations, exit locations, POI locations etc etc the better.
There is a shooting range at your shelter, use it between rounds as much as possible.
Play some rounds of shootout & eliminations to learn how a lot of the games weapons feel/work without fear of dying or losing your guns (shootouts/elims are no risk respawn modes with ground loot weapons) these two modes will teach you alot about the gunplay and movement mechanics & if you win you'll win crates full of free guns to use in encounters.
Do what you've already done today and ask questions as you go, there's a wealth of knowledge on YT, or on twitch livestreams, on a forum like this or the FB groups. If you're looking for specific info on something in game it's never a bad idea to online and ask, it's likely someone else ran into the situation before and will offer help/answer/knowledge
In the end, like most games - Repetition is key, play as much as possible to learn as much as possible and get as good as possible. This is what has always worked best for me. The more I play the better I play.
good luck future outlander, pce!
They're using "easy anti-cheat" https://www.easy.ac/en-US but it being a F2P title we'll see cheaters in the game sadly.
This I know I and I hope is not their only plan
could get really messy in the Outlands.
