there is no such thing as a solo queue you can face teams of up to 3 people doing encounters (well once they actually add coop play in) you can enable lone wolf mode and you will get more experience and have to face teams.
so currently if people are teaming by dropping into the same games it doesn't matter much regardless because on launch they will be able to do it officially. in shootout its always a solo queue so teaming in that mode is different.
For me this isn't a game where you are trying to eliminate the other players. It's more about getting resources and extracting without getting killed or sometimes even seen.
Last night i approached an area to get some loot. I always take my time and check before i move in and spotted a two guys having a shootout. One died so i aimed up on his corpse ready to pick off whoever came to loot it. Then i noticed a second player running near by so i held off. Lucky i did because they were part of a three man squad. I had no choice but to lay down in the undergrowth and wait for them to run off before moving on.
Stuff like that keeps the game feeling varied and unpredictable and adds tension imo. Sure it sucks when you get killed but it's part of the game.
One of the things I hated in othere games was being forced to solo fight squads. I know it will happen when teammates die and such. Also you learn to deal with 3rd partying of others when they come to look at the fights.
But still, I expect players to play solo mode because they want to play solo. I'm not the guy to solo join squad queues
And yes, the way it is now keeps the game varied and can even make it really intense, but dying to a premade team sucks out all the joy for me.
For this game that would be sad, I do like the shooting range and the arcade to just relax a bit and getting ready to try a new encounter.
there is 3 sets of players, the sweaties that usually wear red tracksuits that actively look to pvp everyone in an encounter, the campers and then there are the people who are running around looting which then feed the player that kills them.
early game looting is more important if your building up shelter but at end game once shelter is complete its all about killing. make no mistake the game is a PvP game.
also when you have a lot of loot your mobility is reduced and makes it harder to run or to PvP, so being a loot goblin actually can make you an easier target, there is nothing wrong with any of the styles although the sweaties will always frown on any other style then blitzing, the looters will always hate campers and the blitzers etc
