Breeding question

i have been breeding a specific yaoling for a while now and have yet to see a single colossal egg... the ones im breeding have 2-3 legendary talents and have like 4 maxed out stats each... and the building is max level ofc.

am i doing something wrong? or are colossal eggs locked until you beat the final boss or something? fyi i just beat the thunder demon lord so i assume i'm sort of nearing the end-ish of the game

This trial and error and trying to get better and better parents drained all of my stars (had like 20k) so its a little annoying that i didn't see a single colossal egg spawn yet (i have 6 pairs of the same yaoling breeding now...)

Colossal is all 6 perfect stats.
From my experience, it's better to have all close to max stats as possible for the pair.
For example, if you have 4 max status but the other 2 is not max or not even half way, and same with the other pair, it has a much lower chance to get colossal compared to a pair with all close to max stats.
I'm not sure if Elite. variant and Shiny plus the max stats would make the egg colossal either.
But so far, all my colossal eggs are Elite, variant, and shiny Plus max stats.

yup i know colossal is 6 max on all, that's why i want it.
i am basically pairing the ones that have the most stats as possible, maybe its linked to the trainer levels or how far we are in the story, because i haven't got a single one yet

I haven't finish the storyline and level was around 4 for the colossal eggs. The chances are pretty low though, maybe 1 colossal eggs out of 2 (24 eggs) batch. This was for an already perfect stats with the other around 5.5/6 stats.
For my first colossal, both parents were around 5/6 stats each. took probably around 4-6 batches of (24 eggs).

Yeah it definitely takes time to breed in those amazing stats. My first had both its parents EliteShiny and got me a colossal egg

The chances are extremely low to get a colossal egg. In fact, you can breed two Yaolings with completely perfect stats together and the chances are barely higher than breeding two that are close to having perfect stats. It is in part based on their stats but also seems to be up to chance since they can also have really low stats regardless of the parents.

are you getting colossal from at least 1 shiny parent? because so far i have been breeding and spent a lot of stars and haven't got a single colossal egg... the only thing i haven't tried is using a shiny parent...

I have gotten colossal eggs from breeding Yaolings that are shiny, differently colored, and elite together. Those three together seem to give you the highest chances since they naturally spawn in the wild with higher stats. But, like Kyuzou said, breeding ones with stats that are very close to max together seems to increase the chances of the highest stats being inherited by the offspring.

You can get colossal eggs without a shiny parent though. I have hatched a max stat differently colored Yaoling that came from a colossal egg before. I think being shiny may increase the chances a bit but it does make the eggs cost much more. The chances are just extremely low to get colossals but you can at least get a lot of hearts to grab rare items and shiny eggs later. I have also found out that you can get differently colored Yaolings randomly from eggs even if neither parent is differently colored.

breed in EliteShiny to the best egg you had just hatched (GiantExcellent, GiantPerfect, Giant Pristine) grab all the eggs, go sell them and only hatch the ones that sell for 5 or 6 hearts. ( i sell the rest) swap out the eggs you get when they have better stats and it should speed it up. after that it is up to chance. I do recommend to breed in Elites and Shinys to get the colossals

that's basically what i have been doing and making sure to keep switching parents for better ones and only keeping 5 heart eggs to breed (haven't seen a single 6 heart). i have not been using a shiny parent though because of how rare it is to get the specific one you want and the specific talent etc...

Just to chime in because I'm also breeding right now: shiny hunting is extremely easy in this game. I've been eating either the pancake tower or lotus cake recipe and then just teleporting in and out of the zone with the highest concentration of Yaoling I'm looking for. Found a ton of shinies that way and have been catching any alphas in the area to sell at the inn for extra star gems to fund the good eggs. Yeah colossal eggs are rare but I did get one on accident while breeding for a good set of Duskit to train up for hunting. It came out of a shiny with only two maxed stats and a shiny with 3 maxed stats. It just takes a lot of patience and a bit of luck. You'll get there!
